TICKETING Information TIFF 2010
The tickets for the 9th edition of TIFF will be available for purchase starting from Monday, the 24th of May, at Cinema Republica, Cinema Arta, Cinema Victoria and Cinema City in Cluj; the ticket counters opening hours will be: from Monday, May 24th – Thursday, May 27th between 11:00 - 18:00 and from Friday, May 28th – Sunday, June 6th between 09:00 – 23:00
Entry tickets have the following prices:
TICKETS BOUGHT IN ADVANCE (MINIMUM ONE DAY BEFORE THE SCREENING)
- Regular ticket (valid for one screening): RON 8
- Tickets for pupils, students and pensioners: RON 6 ( please have with you your student card/retirement certification when purchasing the tickets, and also at the entrance of the cinema halls)
TICKETS BOUGHT ON THE DAY OF THE SCREENING
- One ticket (valid for one screening) for all audience categories: RON 10
SPECIAL TICKETS
- One ticket for children and pupils: RON 5 (valid only for the film screenings in the EDUCATIFF section, as announced in the time table)
- One ticket for the open air screenings in Piata Unirii: RON 5
- One ticket for the screenings at the Insomnia Cafe and TIFF Lounge: RON 5
- One ticket for the show scheduled at the Castelul Banffy/Banffy Castle (Bontida - 30.05): RON 5
- One ticket for the Soundtrack for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests show (Auditorium UBB – 31.05): RON 15
- One ticket for the Opening Gala: RON 15 (Piata Unirii)
- One ticket for the Closing Gala: RON 25 (National Theatre/ Teatrul Naţional)
Tickets for all screenings that will take place at Cinema REPUBLICA, Cinema ARTA, Cinema VICTORIA, Piata Unirii (open air screenings), ECHINOX (open air screenings), AUDITORIUM UBB, MEETING POINT, TIFF LOUNGE, INSOMNIA CAFE, parking IULIUS MALL (drive-in screenings) and CINEMA CITY (3 cinema halls) can be purchased from all TIFF ticket counters.
In case of bad weather, the daily screening from PIATA UNIRII, at 21:45 h, will take place the same evening at cinema REPUBLICA, from 23:00 h. The tickets bought for the film screening in PIATA UNIRII will still be valid. People who have bought a ticket for the film screening initially scheduled at REPUBLICA for 23:00 h will receive a ticket for another film in the festival in case they do not desire to attend the screening initially scheduled in PIATA UNIRII.
60 TIFF Cards, with the price of RON 200, will be available for purchase starting with the 24th of May. Those interested in purchasing a TIFF card are to send an email with their identification details and a picture in .jpg format at the address: hordila@tiff.ro or to come to the TIFF ticket counter at the Cinema Republica.
The Card grants access at 35 screenings, of one's own choice; however it does not grant access at the opening and closing galas or at any of the receptions, shows and concerts within the festival. The owner of the card will be able to obtain tickets in advance (or on the day of the screening) for any film on the TIFF time table, within the number of available seats, by presenting the card at any ticket counter. The owner of a TIFF Card may not attend more than 5 screenings per day or obtain 2 tickets for the same screening.
The purchase of the tickets IN ADVANCE AND DURING THE FESTIVAL is made according to the following regulation:
TICKETS for any film can be obtained from any TIFF ticket counter
TICKETS for the screenings taking place in the following locations: INSOMNIA CAFE, ECHINOX, AUDITORIUM UBB, PIATA UNIRII, TIFF LOUNGE will also be available at the entrance, one hour before every screening.
5 minutes before the beginning of any screening the owners of TIFF name plates unable to obtain a ticket will be granted access in the cinema hall on the condition that there are available seats.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION! If you have already purchased a ticket but happen to get to the screening only 5 minutes before it begins you will have no guaranteed available seats in the cinema hall.
TIFF reserves a number of seats for the guests up to 2 hours before the beginning of every screening. After this interval, all reservations will be annulled and the remaining tickets will be made available for purchase.
Access at the Drive-in screenings is possible only by car and the tickets have the same price as for regular screenings. The tickets can be purchased daily at any TIFF ticket counter and afterwards, starting from 20:30 h, at the entrance in the parking lot situated on the Auchan platform. In case there are two or more persons in the car, two tickets must be purchased.
The screenings in the Zilele Filmului Românesc / Romanian Days Films and Proiecţie Specială/ Special Screening sections are designated for the Romanian and foreign guests. The festival will make available for purchase a limited number of tickets for these screenings. Two hours before the beginning of the films in the above categories, all the reservations made for the guests will be annulled and the remaining tickets will be made available for purchase for the general audience.
