1939. The world is descending into chaos. Thousands of distinguished Poles are taken captive by the Soviets and subjected to indoctrination as part of a larger political scheme. An ambitious enemy agent becomes determined to break the spirit of one particular prisoner — a world-famous young pianist admired by his fellow inmates. His surrender could persuade many others to join the enemy’s cause. Can the young Pole win a duel against an agent backed by the full power and cruelty of the Soviet system?
